Proudly standing apart from the "Hamptons Scene," the Village of Quogue was founded in 1659 and quickly became a bustling summer resort community by the 1890s. The village has since metaphorized into a charming and quiet community focused on wholesome family oriented activities.
Homes for sale in Quogue are best known for their shingle-style houses on oversized properties with vast lawns and high hedges. The streets are also wider than the other communities in the Hamptons paying homage to the community's historical roots.
One end of Quogue's Main Street is anchored by the Quogue Club, the village's only luxury boutique hotel. This east end hotel is perfect for housing out of town guests while providing them easy access to main street and the beaches.
At the other end of Main Street is the Hampton Theatre Company at the Quogue Community Hall. This theater troupe has put on more than 60 performances since its founding in 1984 with performances running from September through June.
For those who are more adventrous, there is the Quogue Wildlife Refuge, a 300 acre preserve that is home to diverse wildlife including some that are permanently injured and require human care to survive. The Refuge is open 365 days a year and has over 7 miles of trails to hike and explore.
